Hi Ian

Are those seatbelts IVA OK?
I believe that they have to have a press button release - cannot have a twist mechanism to pass.

But then again I have not read the manual fr a few years now

Ian
I could not find anything in the manual that says twist buckles arent allowed. They just need to be marked in accordance with FIA 8853-98, and these belts are. They should be OK.

Fia Markings would not work for SVA had to be E marked - crazy or what and from memory the difference was push button versus twist!

Ian

I had red belts in one of my other cars.
They get dirty very quick and look tatty.
Black looks well even after years, I changed them

Looks V Cool Ian
Cover it well at the bodyshop, the paint dust gets in even though it's sealed

Aye, it was a might windy last night, winds around 80mph where we are, although I have to say I slept through it! Apparently 165mph up in the Cairgorms and blizzards too; just 20mph less and they would have opened the chairlifts to start the ski season.....

Interior is now finished, all I need now is the engine......Dear Santa.....

Bought a couple of Chrysler Crossfire electric mirrors off ebay and an electric mirror switch from a Rover 25. Now to work out what wires go where, unless any out there has a wiring diagram off a Rover 25 and one from a Crossfire???

Ian,
I have the crossfire ones, as I am going to put them on mine. I managed to get a Crossfire mirror switch though. Send me your email and I will try to dig them up for you!!

Brett

Made up a wiring diagram of the Rover 25 switch and the Crossfire mirror (thanks Brett for the crossfire wiring diagram) and tested it. All working OK. Now to paint the mirrors and fit them.

White primed and fitted the wing mirrors this weekend.

I also noticed a leak coming from the brake master cyclinder switch. I originally installed this with PTFE tape around its thread. I refitted the switch with PTFE after noticing the leak, and the same thing again today; leaking again! I assumed that maybe I had wrapped the PTFE tape badly, but I put a piece of PTFE tape in the brake oil (Dot 4 by the way), and it slowly gets disolved by the brake oil. I was thinking of using Loctite 567 or maybe 577 instead of PTFE tape, or maybe even a copper washer.

Has anyone else had problems with PTFE tape on brake oil threads, or any suggestions to an alternative seal?
Thanks

My Brake light switch gave up and leaked on the way back from my SVA it was actually the switch that allowed the leak.
I replaced it with another from Car Builder Solutions and it has been fine

I did not use tape on the threads
