Currently live about 5 miles South of Edinburgh in a commuter town called Bonnyrigg

During the 2nd WW my grandfather was stationed in Stornaway and hence mum grew up on the island of the Horizontal Rain

In 1963 my Corporal guided missile unit was flown from Rhein-Main, Germany to Benbecula in huge USAF cargo planes and landed on the Benbecula Aerodrome with all of our equipment. We were billeted with the British Army there and we fired missiles from the British Royal Artillery Guide4d Weapons Range out into the Atlantic. This was an annual practice for us but instead of returning to White Sands, New Mexico for missile practice, this one year it was changed to the Outer Hebrides Islands. I had the opportunity to attend the Highland Games on South Uist, too. Lots of sheep on the "Dark Island".
