Hello everyone.
I have had the GT40, GTD chassis for two months. We are doing a basic tune-up, spark plugs, ignition, radiator, pipes, ignition advance, synchronize the Webers.. etc.
I am a bit obsessive with the traceability and history of the vehicles that have entered my garage, however I have nothing at all.
I would like to put the little information I have about the car in case there are people in the forum who can recognize it;
The car had French registration, issued in 1996/7 in Montpellier, register 1968 XX 34, and was later sold to a gentleman from Spain in 2006,
who has been the same owner until 2024.
I don't know in what year the car left the GTD garage.
It doesn't have or I haven't seen the VIN of a GTD. It has the VIN of a Ford Cortina.
Its engine is a 302 E7TE with 13726548 firing order. The gearbox looks like a Renault 369. Its crankcase is identical to the 369 and not to the UN-1.
I'm not sure if the car has been in the USA. It has an MSD 6AL PN 6420 electronic ignition and also has stickers with the Clay Smith logo (https://claysmithcams.com/) which makes me wonder if it has any of its components and Moroso spark plug wires.
Knowing that FORD GT40 FORUMS is a very large community and crosses borders, perhaps you can get a little more information.
Here are some photos to investigate
Thanks a lot
