Avoiding Fuel filler static electricity

Hey everyone, I’m planning on connecting a C7 Corvette cap less fuel filler neck with a 1” to a 2” gates fuel filler elbow.

My question is can I use an aluminum reducing barb fitting or would that potentially creat a static electricity problem. Or should I make one out of plastic. I have a mill & drill so can make it out of plastic. There is a company that can make the aluminum one to save time.

Appreciate the help.

Why not just run a ground wire from the frame to aluminum fitting (could make it a bit longer and have a boss welded on it)

Thanks Alex,

The one fitting I could find in aluminum is very short and would be covered by the hose on both sides.

If I make a barb adapter I found some low static plastic that is gasoline compatible. Just didn’t want to spend time making one, but that is probably the route I’ll go.
