I was waiting 2+ years for my rack and just received it from RCR for my GT-R, so maybe check back in. RCR gave up on vendors and are making their own. the tag says SLC/GT-R so not sure if they are also making them for the GT40
Jim, I received my new RCR designed rack for my SLC (in JUN24 which was at about 23 months ARO). It's a beautiful piece of engineering but I did not receive the steering linkage to the Oldsmobile intrigue steering column nor the control arms (and associated hardware). I'm hesitating to start cutting the mounting and through holes, thus trying to mount the steering system without all the parts. I received verbal advice from Bill to make sure everything is perfectly level (use shims) and to keep the control arms as close to horizontal as possible. (comments welcome!). I'm considering a company called www.splparts.com. They make performance aftermarket control arms. Does anyone know what the previous steering rack part number might be?? I'd like to look up dimensions etc to make control arm decisions for the new rack. Then I need to determine what steering linkage may work? I'm thinking about getting (eBay) the the oldsmobile linkage (matching the steering column) and working from there??. This is a big challenge with unknown parts, missing parts, and zero documentation. I'm just watching youtube videos on steering system design and chatting up some race car engineers.
Thank you very much for the picture. I did "not" receive these steering kit items with my new RCR rack (same as your's pictured). I have sent several emails trying to locate the missing completion kit. Just FYI... These are my known missing items.
1. Completion kit for the transaxle (Ricardo) i.e. starter, clutch, etc. (this should include the transaxle rear support cross members as shown on the forums). I have only the Ricardo (in the factory crate) and the RCR adapter plate to LS3
2. Axles appropriate for the Ricardo / Hub assembly.
3. Steering install items (as shown in your picture above)
4. Shift cables and New Billet RCR shifter for the Ricardo
I'm fairly certain that this is the complete list (less any minor items that I haven't noticed yet)
On a positive side, my build is going fairly well and my frame seems to be very well made.
Jim, Are you familiar with anyone that has fully implemented one of the new racks (like our's)? Have you driven your GT-R with the new rack? anyone else? I'm the first to say that it appears beefy and well made, I'm just wondering about physical testing since it's new ?
I just stopped by RCR this morning. They are assembling racks as fast as they can given the shortage of available skilled technicians. Fran showed me the parts all binned up and ready to work on. Should not be too much longer.
He did mention that it is really important to mount the main box first and then shim the brackets so the rack remains perfectly straight. It is assumed that the tub is not perfectly straight. This is because there is basically no play in the rack assembly. Very tight tolerances.
He also said there should be no reason to disassemble the rods from the actual rack, but if you do, make sure to expose the actual rack and hold it in position while tightening the rods. Relying on the gear to hold the rack in place will damage the assembly.

I have not install mine yet and did not receive any instructions or suggestions like @Randy mentioned. thanks for those details. I was also wondering what the rack ratio is.
