Roof section Mk1 vs Mk2

Hi,
I am in progress of applying for FIA HTP certification for my Mark II GT40(recreation). I have run into some difficulties related to the roll cage system. Some of the feedback I have received from FIA, states that the roof section, and the B pillar on a Mk1 is stronger than on a Mark 2. I find this strange , as I was of the belief that the B-pillar/roof section was similar on Mk2/Mk1. If anyone on the forum have some knowledge related to this, that can be documented, it would be greatly appreciated

Original monocoque GT40 Mk1 roof and B pillar are no different than the Mk2, other than a small slot near the fuel pumps, vent on roof. I'm sure other members have more information.

I have not been able to find much in the way of dimensions or documentation for the roof structure. Can you ask the FIA to supply you with the paperwork that they are basing their feedback on?

The MK IIs typically have an extra vertical slot cut into the lower air intake in the B pillar to allow cool air into the fuel pump area on the port side of the vehicle.
The MK IIs typically also have a roof ventilation slot and louver in the center rear of the roof.

There was only 13 MKIIs made and depending on year these could be in MKIIA or MKIIB configuration. The cars were built by Shelby or Hollman and Moody, so depending on chassis and year there may have been specific differences.
