RCR’s New In-house Steering Rack

Brian, I am not sure I am using the correct names. Heim, rose, rod end. Too confusing.

This is what’s connected to the steering arm. It’s got 12 degrees of misalignment with a 1/2” hole and 5/8” male treads. The safety washers and other hardware is what I had available in my parts bin. I ordered some with 55 degrees of misalignment. Those won’t need safety washers and will allow full suspension travel without risk of binding.

FYI, "Heim", although commonly used to describe a spherical rod- end bearing, is actually a brand name.

Ok, Thanks Randy. So, you ordered a high misalignment rod end. Would you please list the part number for that for future reference.
Thanks

Randy,
The Pro-1 joints are made by QA1. They offer a standard and a high misalignment, the difference of a 'T' in the part number.

Did you order the wrong ones or did you paste an incorrect link?

This is a link to both QA1 and to Speedway

Paul,

The ones that came from RCR are 12 degree. The ones from Speedway are 26 degree and the ones from QA1 are 55 degree (might be 58). 26 degrees should be more than enough and hopefully the bore tube is shorter than the 55 degree from QA1. I ordered the ones from Speedway but I won’t know if they are the right ones until Wednesday.

Cheers, Randy

Anybody finish the instal on a SLC? The one picture on SLC is showing it not sitting on the footbox and I am wondering why?

The picture i saw had it mounted slightly above the footbox, i presume for shaft alignment, but not sure. I'm also interested in seeing pictures on a SLC, or receiving additional instructions. Here's the pics Fran provided

last I heard they were going out based on order date. my kit was ordered 2021 and I got mine a couple months ago

Ok. Ordered in early ‘22, so I guess I’m in the queue.

Tangentially, I literally just checked my mail and got a message from Bill that they’re sending the parking brake kit, but apparently it’s a new style? Bill said they need to make some additional parts to complete it. I’d originally chosen the manual brake setup, so we’ll see what RCR sends. I just received a surprise box on the doorstep last week, the remainder of the fuel system parts arrived. It’s great to be receiving some of the backordered stuff after such a long silence.
