Ron, the car looks awesome. The shape is so original. You've definitly captured not only the look of P1002 but the feel of it as well. The windows look great on it, super job!

Bill: I would'nt worry about that.
Mark:I wish!
Mark Clapp:Thanks! When I get back from Vegas we will get to see how good the light covers look as well.

Ron,

I know chassis 1002, and i have just come back from Spa where it was out running in another race. My English registration number of FGT 40 was obtained many years ago from one of the early owners of 1002, and his tales of woe regarding the state of the chassis rot when he purchased it still ring in my ears.

Its restoration in recent times has been major and , in my opinion over done,
but i have to say that your car is looking fantastic and is capturing the "essence" of the GT40. Keep it simple, raw and not over tarted.

Regards,

Graham @ GTA Racing.

Ron,

Looks Good - I hope to see you and your baby at Carlisle next week. I'm supposed to pick up my baby (#20) at Carlisle. I was supposed to have the engine and ZF installed but Dennis has not finished the transaxle yet.

Great progress Ron.

Your back window looks completely flat. Is that the case, or an illusion from the photo. If it's flat, are you planning to dome it and if so, how?

Sorry I won't be able to see you at Carlisle, but it looks like Fran is going to make a lot of sales when people see your car!

Graham: Thanks for your comments. That means a lot coming from someone who has actually seen #1002 in person. Do you have any pictures of it that you could share with me?
You don't have to worry about my car being over "tarted". That is the furthest thing from what I am trying to build. I see WAY too many GT40 replicas that are too comfy, too flashy and too civilized for my taste.
To me ,a GT40 should be raw and mean.Like a race car should be.

John:What day/days do you plan to be at Carlisle? I will be there pretty much all weekend so I should see you .( and probably help you load your car) ;)

Mark: The rear window does have a slight dome to it when it is fastened in place. In the pictures,it is simply laying there.I should have the area under it painted on Sunday and have it installed.I'll try to get some updated pics then.

Ron, I'm speechless. Your car is so awesome. I wish I could see it in person. At least when I see pictures, I get motivated and do some work on mine. I've hardly touched my car the past two weeks.
