Pathfinder Motorsports was honored to have been invited by the organizers of the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance to display our Pathfinder-Superformance GT40R P/2091 this past Saturday. This year celebrated the ‘50th Anniversary of the GT40’ and on hand were several of the most famous GT40s ever raced, including P/1075. You can imagine how pleased we were to be the only non-vintage GT40 on exhibit (even if we weren't in the Concours competition).
It was a spectacular event, guys. A Ford GT40 seminar was held on Saturday with such GT40 luminaries as Dan Gurney, Brian Redman, David Hobbs, John Horsman (former John Wyer Racing Team Manager), and Pathfinder Motorsports’ building partner and engine builder Lee Holman (President of Holman Moody). It was a spell-binding and often hilarious discussion by these racing icons, and we were happy to later visit with Brian Redman and David Hobbs (both of whom provided advice several years ago during the time Pathfinder was developing the GT40R with Lance Stander and Superformance – Brian even arranged for his colleague and former F1 driver Davina Galica to test drive our prototype 'R' car!).
We were also delighted to meet with numerous friends from around the country – along with a few members of GT40s.com – who came to see this one-of-a-kind gathering of GT40s. Thanks to all who dropped by and we look forward to visiting with you at future events and races!
