Original paint color

Richard,
Please don't confuse this thread and learn to spell Basingstoke before you have a pop.
The car in the picture is painted in a late 50s/60s generic Ford Europe colour and the colour mixing chart does say Consul.
Where I come from this may be called lateral thinking. The other green car depicted is a GT40 by the way.

Crikey! I seem to have offended you.
My response was meant to be light hearted and informative. I was under the impression that peeps on this forum have wider interests than just GT40's. It is a pity if you consider my post confusing or a "pop".:D
As I understand it, the oldest known spelling of Basingstoke is BasyngStoche, meaning the Stoche (land) of Basyng and goes back to the time of Edward the Confessor. Who is to determine the correct spelling?
I was not intending to detract from your inconsiderable help on this forum, rockonsmile and although I do not profess to know everything, (or how they work) even I was aware that the other car in the pictures was of a GT40 or a replica.

JP,
A friend told me about your car coming home, so I've just logged in here to congratulate you.
I am impressed that you kept your SPF close to the original specification, and it's truly a credit to your perseverance.

It looks as though you got that colour just right after all.

All the best and many congratulations.
James
