Ferrari tweeted that Kimi's impact with the wall was 47g. Without a HANS device he would be dead. Note to yourself. Doesn't matter what level of Motorsport you participate in wear one, yes even on track days guys. The people who put shit on you for that are losers, forget them.

Absolutely agree. Two years ago I hit the wall at Sebring and tore the right front off the car. Thanks to the HANS, not even a sore neck!

I don't want to be the old fashioned dude that resists any change, especially in this company ;p , but I have problem with the Hans device.
In open top cars I have no issue but in closed roof cars they worry me. I tried one in my hillclimb car and found it made getting out of the car a much more difficult and slow process. It would be even worse with some of the more aggressively wrapped around seats that people are using now.
I don't want to be the guy stuck in a burning car...

Maybe these problems have been alleviated with more modern designs, I hope so, because apart from that issue I am all for the device.

I'll just go and change the plugs then.....

What the f***?

Where the heck are they?

NOT a Mercedes F1 Hybrid motor....

TILT! I've been staring at it and no way is that the F1 motor. I think it's a frikkin' diesel.. Sorry chaps.

I wear a HANS in a very small cockpit enclosed car (Triumph TR8). I've practiced "bailout" procedures before and it is just a matter of practice in getting through the window hole. The HANS releases, as you know, with the twist of the camlock on the belts.

I wouldn't race without one any more.

So let's see what you think, if Hamilton started on pole and Rosburg on 20 ( reversed positions ) what do you think their finishing positions would be ?

Hamilton first and Nico second next a Williams.
It was a terrific race with lots of passing and the dice between Ricci and Alonso was mind blowing.

Rosburg would win
Team could not have resisted a German in a German car on a different German track

And as the race progressed Hamilton would spit the dummy and fail to deliver?

But as Pete said it wa a great race - too much physical jousting for my liking though. How many bumps did Hamilton cause and what are his penalties for doing so?

You daft lot! Hamilton 1, Bottas 2, Alonzo 3, Rosburg 6th, There is no way he would have taken on the passing moves that Hamilton did, particularly the Alonzo / Vettel double pass.

But he would also not have broken the front wing so his car would have been more efficient and he would have won anyway
