evaporator installation

Hi all,
I received my vintage air kit and want to install the evaporator to be sure of the clearance for my wire harness.
I looked at the manual and the wiki for the installation and saw the cooling connector that need to be turned for clearance (what I modified), but I have another problem: the heater pipes are in the same side than the cooling connector (exterior of the car, not middle of the car) and there is not enough room for them before touching the side of the chassis.
Looking at others installation, these pipes were in the interior side of the car.
Is it a new design or I got the wrong part? anybody had installed that one? how?
Thank you
Alex

Hi Alex,

Me and a few other builders turned the heater core around. Here is a link to how I did it. Post #117-#119. It is a bit of work to do, but worked out well.

You could also cut the front of the case off and put the holes on top which moves the evaporator forward a bit more. Stephan did this mod.

Also, Cam T repositioned the AC fitting and bent the heater hose outlets to clear the frame. It’s in his blog.

thank you I will take a look at the different options. i guess searching on GT40 i used the wrong wording because i could not find anything.
in the manual, they have a part that look different!
