To avoid confusion calling his motor a "LSX" is incorrect. LSX crate motors use iron blocks. I believe Eric is using a LS3 crate motor with the ASA camshaft swap. It is designated the LS376/525.

Yes, I HAD to test fit the body last night for no other reason than just because.

I found a couple areas where it's catching and my measurements for the front strut bars for the front spoiler were off, hence the front nose sticking up too much, I'll have to move those at a steeper angle on the front nose.

The air inlet tube isn't looking promising as it hits the rear body work, I'll try and rework it once I get the rear clam in it's final place and bolted up.

The exhaust pipes somehow got misaligned so I'll have to fiddle with those to get them to line up properly in the holes. I'll also have to enlarge one hole on the drivers side, as it's touching the pipe.

It was suggested by more than one person that my clutch pedal is probably out of adjustment as well. And since it SNOWED, yes snowed last night, I wasn't able to test out the new adjustment.

Nothing on the suspension is right so that'll be another task to tackle.

But for now, mother of hell it looks awesome!

I REEEAAALLLY want a set of those stand off's that you guys passed around, but hearing that they come loose at 100MPH kinda kills that idea for me.

Wow Eric superfast progress mate.

Be careful driving in its unfinished state, it’s so addictive you won’t be able to get out of it!
I think it probably best driven with at least a body on it otherwise you’ll get too many bugs in your mouth from the wide open grin!

Pretty sure I’ve seen this comment from other SLC owners. I note later in Eric’s thread (post #123) he mentions ‘Nothing on the suspension is right’ and I wonder if that’s the reason for lack of traction?

I have the LS3/480hp and Ricardo box tuned to about 500hp and my suspension is fully sorted. Even before the Bilstein shock system was installed I’ve never been able to break traction in 2<sup>nd</sup> gear (when accelerating in a straight line on a dry road) no matter what the rpm is when I plant my foot and go WOT.
Do others with finished SLC’s with similar power ever have traction problems in 2<sup>nd</sup> gear? Perhaps it’s the long gearing in the Ricardo that allows the better traction or is it all down to correct suspension settings and tires?

Mine is putting down 689 hp and 680tq When the tires are up to temp and good road conditions you can almost mash it in 1st gear with a Ricardo. It really hooks and moves!!!!!

Doing lots of nitty-gritty things lately...

- Setting up the rear tail light enclosures and wiring
- Headlight wiring
- Trying to add springs to the head light ball studs (yea, not going well)
- Made and affixing dash supports
- Made cable for door latch and installed striker
- Painted and installed rear engine window
- Wired up dual horns
- Installed passenger compartment plate in front of gas tank.
- Installed (poorly) one side of the quick latch for rear clam.

Mild updates... Little tasks are under way, worked solidly for 6-7 hours the other night and very little physically changed. Ah well, that's how the details go.

Test fit the front clip.

Got the rear tail lights to work with functional reverse lights.

Dash test fit and mounted.

Mounted pass. side mirror.

Fabbed up an inner door panel out of aluminum and plastered with vinyl faux carbon fiber wrap... Probably going to change this eventually when the interior is completed but for now it works.

Underside of the door handle.

Backup camera testing.

Shark fin for mounting camera.

Wiper motor installed.

Gratuitous rear-end shot for no other reason than just because.

Crude alignment.

Calibrating the fuel sending unit with my lovely assistant whom does not need calibrating.

Aerocatch studs. Made a series of aluminum plates top and bottom to support the studs.

Pic of 90* air intake. Again, crude but effective.

What kind of backup camera did you wind up going with?

Nothing too crude about that alignment. We set toe on the race cars with two pieces of drill rod against the tires (held a few inches above the ground with bungee cords) and a tape measure.

Takes a bit more for camber/caster, but it's still very doable in a home shop.

THanks Frank, camber wasn't too bad to set... just needed some maths but I got it within 1/10th of a degree when it sat on the ground.

Nice progress! I'm extremely envious that you are a) so far along and b) working on the fun stuff.

That white sure looks awesome with the black accents.

I never would have thought that camera would fit inside the shark fin. Is it a BMW 5 series fin? How about more details? Don't make me beg! :thumbsup: Monitor type, whether it records, hard wired or wireless, other functions fed to the display, etc. Not only have I had my eyes out for a rearview camera system for the SLC, but even my pickup. I have a topper on the back and I rely too much on the backup sensors.
