Ok pretty proud of my first time Tig welding with new Everlast tig welder and fabrication of an aluminum throttle cable bracket. From a sheet of aluminum to something looking period correct.

Honestly I used the Tig but not much stacking of dime as I found that it was easier to make my puddle and move the heat as it flowed as one spot to the next. So almost like brazing with a Tig.

Rob I bought my Turkey pan from them but the second picture you show will not work on a Gurney headed intake spread. Now the other bracket you show is wider and is what I needed but they did not offer it for sale to me. I ended up bolting it to the bottom of the tray and I added a third mounting hole with a threaded zerk rivet to locate from the top and only have to nut the outside ones from the bottom outside.

Well I was proud of my first Tig welding job. But then I thought I was getting pretty good at it so I bought some flat stock and tried to make a more authentic one. I was doing good until I tried to fill in a dimple and melted the entire foot off it.

I thought about welding the foot back on for about one second and thought practice makes perfect. New one in about one and a half hours.

1075 is such an amazing car, but holly crap it looks like a tinder box. I get keeping the car as it was when it raced, but it seems like a light restoration might be a good idea. But what a hard decision.

If you owned 1075 would you clean it up, or keep it as is?

As is . You can't replicate that patina. But yes I agree with cleaning it up some inside and under the clamshell. That picture was taken in November 2021. Ford Performance surprised us at a GT rally when they took it out of the trailer.

Robbie, my Quick Jack's 6000 and are longer and heavier duty then the 5000's and work great. I bought them on Black Friday sale for under $1500 free shipping. They come with two thickness blocks. I put them forward where the lower control arms meet at the frame and rears end up under the crossmember. Photos of model numbers.

Hi David, Dave here. If this isn't asking too much is it possible to take a couple of photos without the Quick Jack in position and point to the front & rear lift points that the rubber blocks contact?

Rubber blocks (comes with kit, but you could buy/add more for larger displacement), is enough to hold the car, placed under the "frame rails"... View attachment 140396

Or better yet, since we are close to each other and I will be back in St. Clair Shores in mid May, maybe I could DM you to come check your beauty out and you could show me the pick up points.
