Hello All,
My first posting here. I love the car and planning a build sometime in the future, but would like to spend a bit of time researching before starting.
I have a look to see if this has been discussed before - can't find the thread. But it must be out there somewhere.
Can anyone can shed some light (or point me to a thread). I'd like something as close to the original of a Mk I or Mk II. But can seat a 6ft confused individual (me) without bruising the top of my head. A kit that might even take original parts...?
I'm in the UK - so that might narrow the options down. But it'll be a long term project - as long as its done right, so a kit outside the UK might be considered if its the right one.
I have some mechanical experience - ex motorcycle racer and general road hoodlum (retired!), so I can pop engines out and rebuild them (but it is amateur level - no tuning skills). Also, I have no welding experience.
Just wonder why people chose some kits over others. Any pointers to some basics will be really appreciated. It'll keep the dream alive!
