Superlite GTA

Ok Fran... any more teaser pics or info? The SL-C is my first choice but my pocket book may dictate otherwise. I've been saving for the SL-C project but have 50% to go.... What I've got gets me into the GTA now . Decisions, Decisions.

I'm at the purchase point of an SLC roller with all the options, IF(!) I sell my Razor and my BMW motorcycle. However, I plan to wait for another year or so (2014) to make my purchase. The reason being that I may also be able to get my drivetrain by then. If not, I'll still purchase the SLC and assemble what I can.

I've considered the new SL Apex too. But I know that in my heart, the SLC is the way to go for me. Ive only had one car give me that "giddy as a school girl" (lol) feeling like the SLC. And that's the Dodge Viper. But the SLC trumps the viper now (since seeing it at SEMA 2010).

I'm just rambling at this point, so....

Let's see another pic!

Ah, gotcha. I was scratching my head on that one for a bit. Like you I think the GTA looks great, but I'm really in love with the SLC. I'm thinking hard about one when I have my house paid off in 2 years.

I really hope that I like the front of this car. I am very excited about the car itself. I am unsure about the front. Any head-on shots Fran?

Mr. Wolfe

Dont worry Greg...you cant see the front from the drivers seat....

Pictures will be posted when I am ready to show them....

I know that Fran! I just want to build the ultimate car for me. I would be lying if I said I didn't want the car to be gorgeous. I am not saying the front of the car is not nice... I just can't tell from the pics.

I guess I just need to come up and see it. I am trying to nail down a date between August and September if that works for you.

Mr. Wolfe

Fran,

Performance-wise, what cars would you put this against? (road course) I am guessing somewhere around a 4 second 0-60, but have you had a chance to drive the chassis? If so, what car would be comparable in feel?

Mr. Wolfe

Greg.

0-60 in 4 secs is stunningly fast....so unless you plan on spending some pretty big money on making big power and torque , I dont see that as realistic.

The Apex is directed at the daily driver demographic....not the SL-C buyer...now those are sub 4 sec. 0-60 cars

Fran, 0-60 times mean pretty little to me. I was just figuring a 400hp, 2400 lb. with 12" rears would be in the low 4's. Especially since my 3300 lb. 350hp car is in the 4.5-4.8 second range. (N/A modded M3) Not that any of this is important.

I understand the DD demographic for this car, but that doesn't mean it can't be an all out sports car for some. This car would not be my DD. I don't expect to compete with an SL-C, but would like something decisively faster and more nimble than my M3. The M3 is no slouch, but I would think the Apex would be in an entirely different league such as an Exige with more boost.

Am I off target here?

Which is why I have decided to keep my eye on the prize and continue to save my nickles. Just under 40k now. Cheers

I have some guest clay modellers coming into the studio this weekend....there will be a combined 70 years of experience that will be sharing their wealth of experience and talent to get the final surfaces spot on....

Detroit is still the home of some of the best in business and I am proud to be building my cars here........

You're up waaaaay too late Mr Hall.

I'm glad America is trying to turn around Detroit and restore it to it's former glory, it's a place worth saving.

Looking forward to more Apex pics.
