SL-C powerplant possibility?

, from what I see a crate LS7 is 537 lbs.

On second thought there is no way a LS7 weighs that much. I know my iron block big block Ford is 589 pounds as I weighed it on a certified car pad in my garage. An all ally compact LS7 has got to be well under 537lbs.

Sounds more reasonable. No way that thing could only weigh 50 some pounds less than a dressed BB.

It is a damn far sight more expensive than I thought though.

That's shipping weight, no doubt.

I seem to recall that J. Salmon weighed his and it was around 385, with exh manis, but without front dress.

is the link I was thinking about. He weighed the engine, with the Kinsler FI, and no front dress. It looks like the exhaust manis were included (but I'm not sure).

In any case, he measured 360 lbs. Does that mean the manifolds and front dress add another 100 lbs?

Confused, I am...

LS7 dressed engine weight with ALL accessories including PS:

The following is from the January 2006 issue of Sports Car International on page 25:

"The net result is a fully trimmed engine that weighs 458 pounds, only 10 more than the 6.0-liter LS2."

My LS1 weighs 452 lbs dressed for the SL-C.

This engine just debuted at a boat show in Florida today.

Apparently, this designer/builder will be offering another 4-rotor option as an alternative to the Kiwi-RE 13b based 4-rotor as well as a 6-rotor engine.

Fran, how much wider and longer is that SL-C with an extended wheelbase ;)
