Will FFR launch a GT40 replica?

@Big-Foot suggested moving my post here so why not?

I’ve seen Dave at FFR say over the years that it’s not going to happen, and even give a list of reasons why not.. until about a year ago when (I’m wishfully thinking, yes) that his answers changed a little.

(My daily is a FFR hot rod that I autocross/track with so I have interest in the idea)

Now he just smiles and even jokes about it. A recent post on FB was pretty eye opening as his answer to the question in a comment was very open ended and even seemed like a slip up (Can’t find it now)

Yes 100% wishful thinking. . But I’m still going to think it.. and it causing me to pause on which direction to go ‍♂️

We aren’t getting any younger so don’t wait on FFR. I figured if they do come out with one, I’ll just build another one …just don’t tell my wife!

Not aware the Shelby suit had anything to do with a GT40 since he never owned anything to do with that. And he lost most if not all of the claims he made. From what I remember, FFR said they would never build a 40, in spite of what the web recently says. Are you waiting because you don't have enough selection from the manufacturers already in the business? It's just a matter of how much you want to spend and how original you want it to be.

No I’m not ready yet anyway but it does make me pause on choosing which way to go. Some great choices out there obviously but I already know and understand the FFR community. We’ll see

The law suit mentioned was Shelby against SAAC quite a while ago when I was a member. SAAC was selling war bonds to raise cash. I have a couple. Mostly about all the fake GT350s like mine.
The law suit was dropped shortly after the smart but cranky old man died, This is how it was told while at the shop/factory in Vegas.
I think the Shelby clubs all around the world was more of a positive thing than he could have dreamed for.
To sue for intellectual property was nuts !
I built a F5 Cobra and for the most part it was OK,
When building any replica it's about time, no how, and money.
Some times factory support is hard to get when people jump in and don't know what they have got them selves into. ( the pest factor )
A GT40 may work out at FF but would be a big undertaking.
