SPF steering rack stops

Was looking for a bit more turning radius so remover the internal teflon stops, but gained nothing? Steering limit appears to limited for lack of teeth on the rack. Any SPF owners run into this before?

SPF no longer fits the steering stops. They fitted them to eliminate tire to tub contact, however depending on the front tire size many cars had no interference. We routinely removed the stops and informed customers to stop cranking on the steering when the tires touch the tub! As the turning radius of a GT40 is not great to start with, increasing the radius is not a great idea.

The stops removed are .830” wide and did nothing to limit the steering so not sure why they were there? With Avons 215/60’s still have additional turning room but as stated the rack itself limits any further movement. Were some Superformance delivered with larger tires and consequently additional stops?

I have an earlier Mk 11 (P2226). It came with 225/60/15 front tires. I removed the plastic travel stops because the turning circle was limited. That definitely helped. I just try not to crank the wheel hard so the tires don't rub at full lock.
