If asking for someone to help doesn't work, I suppose I could start posting comments until my quota (XX) of messages has been reached.
This is not my style, but when no one reaches out to assist, what do you do?

Rick, we're all volunteers on the site. We don't get paid, we work for free. The forum doesn't make a profit, it exists solely on donations that people make to support the forum, but it is absolutely free to use. The forum has operated this way for nearly 24 years, but you might not know that since you're new here.

We have a problem with scammers abusing a free site for their personal gain. We've taken some steps in attempts to curtail that, however, it might be inconvenient for some, although I'll freely admit I don't see it that way.

If you have some suggestions of how we can more effectively deal with the abuse of the PM system we'd love to hear about them.

PS-This forum, like most, have an automatic spam limit trigger. Go over a certain number of posts in a given period of time and you earn yourself a timeout. I can't remember what the number is but I know it exists.
