Justin as you well know when I do they will be posted....the prod. version of the HT2 sport truck is coming along nicely....
Now this looks interesting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!I'd like to see someting ultra modern looking on par with the looks of this newest round of supercars (918, P1, etc) . I think this would do :thumbsup:
It doesn't look like a Ferrari - it screams American to me. Not bad, just not what I expect.
Edit: It does look better from other angles though. Shame about that silver on the back though.
I wonder if this is from a different design house than the last few were from? This has some hints back to the 70s, think of the one or two show cars that Pininfarina did back then, and I think there is some of the genetics of that in here, not a lot, but enough to be vaguely familiar. Think of the wedge shapes from back then..the louvered rear window, too, but this is also so contemporary in other respects. The "nostrils" air intake have been a problem to make look good before ..and this one does it well, in my view. So...I have to ask...Did this get built, or is it a 'virtual' design exercise living only on a hard drive and monitor screen? With all the experience that RCR has in mid engine chassis, and with some design cues from a shape like this, it might be just the vehicle to launch RCR out of the exotic race-car inspired field and and into the 'exotic' super design field, a car in its own right, not necessarily inspired by those shapes that we have come to love and adore on the racing tracks of the last 5 decades.
I love the side view shots but I suspect that I would hate a straight on rear view shot. Without actually seeing the back end, my guess is that it is boxy looking. Also I'm wondering what the contrasting color material is on the rear end; I'm thinking that it may be a brushed stainless; possibly to tie in with the metal looking material behind the front wheel?

Just a design. Took 2nd place in Ferrari's World Design Contest in 2011. It may not have won but there are some definite design cues in the LaFerrari

You know......many of the new designs that have come out in the past decade or so, well in my view they really suck...Lotus lost it..they look like angry insects..Corvette lost it..the flowing c5 [ which I own as a daily driver] turned to a designed by committee mess...Ferrari lost a some of the old school integration, with little bits stuck on a basic form, that just dont really 'fit'....Some of the supercars such as the Pagoni Zonda, and others..well they are interesting technical machines, but thy just don't please the eye..The early McLaren road car was pretty good, and to some extent the Konnneeeegggggsseegggg also, [ apologies to Top Gear and Jeremy for inspiration of that mis-spelling] but they just dont have the excitment and the total form of all the design elements flowing together and belonging as one...relating all aspects of the car lines and forms together... This IS a nice design! I was one of those teenagers that also went nuts for the T-70...especially the open version..it just looks so fluid.. The race cars of the era were good looking ..witness the interest in them even today half a century later! Fran makes the best of them...T-70, P-4, GT40, 917, they were greats on the track and great looking.... The race-car inspired SLC is another good one, but follows the idea of modern race car aero. Something like this Ferrari study, this kind of shape, exotic and surreal, but achievable for a special road car...it would indeed be a statement! It may have some PR value for Ferrari as a design study, but I wonder if even a limited number of them would ever be made.For them the cost would be enormous, if not prohibitive, not only for the development, but also for all the crash test compliance that a major builder MUST comply with. It may fall to the specialist builder with exemptions [ like RCR] that already has the moxie and the skills, the technical know and the vision, to build a small batch of a car like this...

Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, I would respectfully disagree on the observation that the last decade "sucks". Park a Zonda, Koenigsegg CCGT, Mclaren P1, Lamborghini Aventador or RCR SLC anywhere and a crowd will instantly gather. I would say the same for the P4, T70 or my personal favorite, the 962. These Icons will always be crowd generators. Even cars like the Lambo Countach (which has lost some luster in my humble opinion) or the Gumpert Apollo will still gather a crowd. All these supercar styles, the curvaceous racers, the Wedge cars and the aero cars to name a few, all are outliers on the street and give them a status which the mustang, corvette, and others will never have.
True, and explains the reason that so many ugly cars sell so well.....and draw a massive crowd. ..even if they are not "attractive" in the classic sense...
We must never equate exotic/rare for beautiful/artistic...both will have a following...but the artist in me sees the difference in a staggering way. Take for example the Modern F1 cars..they are the epitome of function over form...every shape for a very specific purpose inside the rules, they draw a crowd if placed in public, and the represent the latest in technology, but they are not beautiful... at least in my view....Your mileage WILL vary!
