You mean this one....from a different angle

Looks much "meaner" than the design in post #1304, Fran!

Is it the same design, just from a different angle, or a different/modified design?

Supra powered is very enticing......love that long I-6 w/turbos!

Also interested in knowing how it could be titled. Kits long ago that fit a VW chassis were eligible to be titled as a VW, could this project be eligible for titling as the donor for the cabin?

VERY interesting.....watching carefully, want to know how much is included in the kit and how much (or, more accurately, how little) fabrication might be needed.

....all in good time, I know [wink...wink]....

Cheers to you, Fran!

Doug

Great looking little car, nice proportion with a decent target price. Sweet future offering, Roberto (or should I say the wife) can have number 001 this time... I'll slot in about 020... :)

"will utilise a familiar production car safety cell as the centre section tub to which front and rear subframes will be attached"

Doesn't sound like Fran's style?

Gotta be fluid...tread new ground....and stay ahead of the curve...

This car is going to be a great machine...it will tick boxes that I have never seen done right ...in this industry....I am as excited about this car as any thing we have ever done..

I want more people driving our cars and this car has real everyday driver potential...which sets it apart from many cars in its genre.

I'll bet that that seed was planted with the original SL-C concept! Super job Fran, it should nicely fill that gap, especially with your price point! Beautiful concept too!

Curious! I wonder what 'safety cell' is easily removed (unbolted!) from the rest of the car then as I can't see you asking people to take a blowtorch to metal just to build a car like 'Smyth Performance'.

Still, I'm at the US Consulate in London tomorrow morning for my final interview to get my visa so I'll be over soon enough :)

I've read on the "other" forum that people are starting to give up on that car. I liked the idea of it, but it's unfortunately taking a LONG time to develop. I HIGHLY doubt that Fran will be asking us to torch another car. I imagine he will be asking us to use the interior, windows, electrics, etc, to complete the car. Maybe the interior shell of the car will be designed to accept the donor interior. I guess we will have to wait and see!

This new one looks awesome! Are you positioning it like a Lotus Elise? I can't tell from the rendering if it is Elise size or larger? Either way, I'm a fan!

As far as motor, I'm thinking an ecotec if you are going 4 turbo, or the motor that was used in the solstice gxp coupes. You can pull over 300 hp easily on stock internals with just a tune. Build it up, and you can jump over 500 hp all in a tidy small package. Of course, a 2JZ would just take this to another level......

I have the ecotec in my SLR and I can say that I'm not that impressed. It's a VERY fussy engine. I will admit though, that when it runs, it goes like a cheetah on speed! However, in the amount of time I've had it and with the amount of work ($$$$-could've bought a new motor already) I've put into it, I'd recommend a 4G63.

If you know anything about the LNF, please contact me. I'm STILL trying to get the thing sorted....

I was thinking about the 'safety cell' and speaking of the Elise that's the only chassis which I think would be appropriate but then again, they are hella expensive over there....
