RCR's Next car should be.....

The engine is a 4g63 Mitsubishi...they were available in man/auto ...we use this package in our Razor and its a great little unit...there is room available for a V6 but the 4 cyl. can make some pretty awesome power and still be "every day" reliable..

Suspension is NON donor...

Conventional doors only...

Fran, can you comment on the overall size of the sport coupe? length, width, height?I know it has to be smaller than my Z06.

Same height as a 993 Porsche
103 inch wheelbase
72 inches wide
Overall length is still a little in flux, during studio model work...

Sorry Mike...they are cute but not on my favorites list...

There's a nice little teaser in the current issue of Kit Car Builder - page 9....and some of you may be interested in teaser #2 on page 10 (Superlite LeMans).

Fran - You may just have another repeat customer based on the preliminary info on your new coupe. I just need to finish the SLC!

Nice work!

<------ This guy will be a repeat customer! I'm looking forward to seeing the Jaguar D type as well as the Maserati. (I prefer the D type myself)

D type pics...being readied for wetsanding and mould making...

Very nice! Looks like the "long nose".

I just drove the SLR to Death Valley and back today. Sorry, no pics. I didn't charge the battery.

Question about the new sport coupe: Will it be an addition to the Superlite line? Have you chosen a name for it?

What are the estimated dimensions of the D type/Maserati?

Dave, can you scan and post that teaser on page 9 of Kit Car Builder or is that against the rules???? Thanks, John

Florin Blebea

Certainly have some talent onboard!

Can't wait to see the next instalment! I'm surprised the other forum hasn't noticed yet, especially with proper roll up windows and a roof..... this is the biggest concern over there and RCR is going to do it from the get go!

Fran, do you have any pics of the chassis that will be under the D Type skin? More specifically; the monocoque, front and rear suspension, etc.

Thanks.
Justin

Wow, Fran, that Jag D-Type looks incredible! Any possibility of an aluminum body?
Also, do you have a good supplier for the Jag 4.2 engines (with Webers of course) and approximate cost?
Have you ever considered building a reproduction of the Aston Martin DBR-1 or DBR-2?

Please keep up the Great work!
David

David.
No aluminum body from me I am afraid..
There are quite a few engine builders/suppliers out there and new Webers are readily available.
The roller kit target price with many correct type components is sub $30k.
The chassis is being set up to use a 6 cyl. with a 5 speed. and a solid rear axle per the original D type.
The body will be very straight, clean and in gelcoat as per other RCR products...
The chassis will be like the original and have a few details that will closely resemble some of the D chassis detail features ,..

I actually bought and paid for a set of Aston DBR1 moulds many years ago only to be "GAZZUMPED" and have the seller resell them to another guy for more money...

Just curious, which Maserati will you be replicating? (Or did I miss that...)

Edit: I'm guessing the 350S since it has similar measurements to the D.

David,

When I had my E-type I found this vendor to be very good. They do a lot of custom and high performance work (will build you a motor any way you want) and yes they do sell a weber set all ready to go
