I have an RBT transaxle and was wonder if other owners of such have been using a speedometer pickup that reads the output shaft speed. Where does it mount? How does the pickup work. Thanks
I would love to use this drive. I am not familiar with this. How might I find out more about the speedo drive? I do currently use a single sided pickup for the speedometer.
Are you certain the drive is not installed? The ZF casting has an opening there and the bolt holds the drive assembly in place. If it's not there and there and the builder did not install it, I am not sure you can install one without disassembly of the ZF. You need to ask one of the experts like Ron McCall
Im using a Smiths electronic speedometer that you can adjust the pulses to anything you want. I made a pulse ring that will go on the CV mount on the transmission. Went with 60 pulses per rev. (And tell it tire diameter/circumference) Still looking to either cap or remove the speedo drive on my ZFQ so it doesn't rust.
I got rid of my speedometer altogether. Use a GPS program on my phone. I also noted the RPM when in high gear so freeway driving based on the tach works just fine without the phone. Don't know if this is legal but just too old to really care.
