New transaxle for GT40’s - GTT by Steve Wilkinson

Steve Wilkinson is manufacturing new transaxles for GT40’s, Panteras, and other mid-engine cars. The new transaxle is called GTT and comes flipped for GT40’s. Most of its parts are interchangeable with a Pantera transaxle yet it has improvements including a stronger case and a 70% locking differential. I think they are starting to become available. The attached photo shows the new GTT transaxle and the link below is to the GTT website that is just now coming online.

So this is just like every other new transaxle out there made of unobtainium. It simply doesn’t exist. Every part on their site shows as sold out. We have been down this road before. Please everyone please do not send a deposit until the actual transaxle has been produced, tested, and is in inventory. The Roaring 40s disaster, the Aro head deal, DeLyns transaxle and many many other non existing new products out there should be a reminder to us all. Please do much investigating before parting with your hard earned money. If this company wants to be a forum supporter then so be it, but let’s not promote something that may or may not exist.
Be Safe out there.

Regards Brian

Thanks Brian. I genuinely understand your position. However, it is definitely not unobtainium. I have Wilkinson's 2nd gear, tall fifth gear, 3.77 ring and pinion, synchros, pinion bearing, other bearings, gaskets, and other parts in one of my Panteras. I am not alone with this as he been providing these parts and other transaxle parts in the Pantera world for years to transaxle rebuilders. I am not at home and I wish I could post a photo of the bucket of parts that came out of the transaxle on that car. I also have his new 70% locking differential in the car and it was a significant upgrade to the car's drivetrain. Along with that he provided with me with complete CV axles allowing me to ditch the car's half shafts. His website for this newer effort is just getting off the ground. The parts pictured there are the real thing and I have seen them at his shop along with more than 100 new cases stacked up. Wilkinson has been in the Pantera parts and service business for more than 50 years and became frustrated with the lack of parts and complete transaxle assemblies from the well known source. Hence this deep dive to manufacture complete transaxles and offer its individual parts. His primary market is GT40's. He is well aware that the GT40 world is bigger than the Pantera realm and that each new GT40 needs a transaxle. Regards, Steve B.

Wilkinson needs to get one of these transaxles installed in a race GT40 and give it some real testing. His Pantera parts are often manufactured offshore and can be of questionable quality, is this transaxle manufactured and assembled in the USA?

If Steve Wilkinson wants to sell parts and transaxles to our community, I suggest that he sign up here and become a vendor in good standing. Brian is exactly correct in that there have been many smoke & mirror shows here over the years that have bilked literally millions of dollars from our members as well as others in the automotive community.
Steve and his business would be a welcomed addition where he can share his story as well as photos and tours of his facility to our members.
In other words - Steve needs to have some skin in the game here if he wants to become recognized as a respected vendor.

That website has been up for quite some time. Not filled in. Try to order one.

By the way, I have a real ZF for sale currently.
