New source for a performance 15" tire for the GT

That would be good news if they could come to the market with them. Id imagine there is also quite a few other cars that would fall into the classics age group that would be interested in some nice period rubber these days as well. Things like early Mustangs, Falcons, Camaros, Chargers, RX7s, 240Zs, early BMWs ect

Here is an update from Roger Kraus:

"They are radials with an 80 tread wear rating. There are 5 sizes planned, currently:

185/70VR15
215/60VR15
225/60VR15
245/60VR15
295/50VR15

As Avon was having issues with supply here in Australia I was left with no choice but to look elsewhere.
Nankang do a 295 x 50 x15, there is a road and race version, i went for the race, the Avon was $900 the Nankang was $440.
I am impressed with the Tyre for the value, its grip level is good, not as high as the Avon when you get real serios, if I do a launch it has a spin for a few meters then hooks up, fast road work I dont notice any difference but as I don't track the car anymore I am not that worried.
Then I go to buy a pair of fronts 215x60x15 and they had gone from $450 to $750, the rears went from $900 to $950 so in percentage the fronts had gone up by 67%, a great tire but I have an issue being molested because there is a lack of choice.
As an interim I put a Dunlop Classic sport on at $315 each and again not a bad tire.
If Nankang make a front I would use them from my current experience, The tread pattern is a bit modern, but probably better in the wet than the Avon.

What chassis and body configuration do you have?
GTD chassis MK1

Using Hoosiers, Good Year Blue Streak and Avons on my car, Blue Streaks good grip but don’t last, Avons pretty good but get a little slippery when hot and Hoosiers seem to be a good middle ground option I’ve found.
