As Avon was having issues with supply here in Australia I was left with no choice but to look elsewhere.
Nankang do a 295 x 50 x15, there is a road and race version, i went for the race, the Avon was $900 the Nankang was $440.
I am impressed with the Tyre for the value, its grip level is good, not as high as the Avon when you get real serios, if I do a launch it has a spin for a few meters then hooks up, fast road work I dont notice any difference but as I don't track the car anymore I am not that worried.
Then I go to buy a pair of fronts 215x60x15 and they had gone from $450 to $750, the rears went from $900 to $950 so in percentage the fronts had gone up by 67%, a great tire but I have an issue being molested because there is a lack of choice.
As an interim I put a Dunlop Classic sport on at $315 each and again not a bad tire.
If Nankang make a front I would use them from my current experience, The tread pattern is a bit modern, but probably better in the wet than the Avon.
