GT40 new member and first time owner

Hi Folks,

Just bought my first GT40 and will be bringing home to Northern Ireland next week. It will need a full restoration but most of the bits appear to be there except some of the floor pans and the interior. It comes with a small block ford v8, renault box (possibly toast) and a cortina tax book (showing 5.0 litre)

I know its a KVA kit but would be obliged if anyone could identify the type from the photos

Would also very much appreciate if anyone could advise on the seats and perhaps an alternative setup to the HN1 box

Hi Ross, welcome to the site. I don’t have any useful insight into KVA history and evolution, but the car appears to have decent bones.

I hope you’ll start a re-build thread so we can follow along.

Cheers Michael, will definitely do a rebuild thread. I have never seen another gt40 in Ireland so it will be a very rare car

It is a KVA C type. No pic of the box so I can't identify it for you. I have info on KVA , Ford small block and Renault boxes if you need it.
