Fit of SLC for larger (and fatter) driver?

Hi all....I just joined the forum because I am very seriously considering the purchase of an SLC.

My main concern is fit. I am 6'3"/250#....and am wondering not so much if an SLC can be built in a manner that I could squeeze into it...I'm sure it can.

My concern is whether I would fit decently and in a relatively comfortable manner, particularly with a helmet on. I realize it would involve moving the pedals forward and assuming a seat-leaned-back reclined position...that is a given. For obvious reasons I don't want to invest in the car and find myself shoehorned in, helmet banging the roof....etc.

Any larger owners here have insight to offer?

Thanks much.

Brian I am 6' 3'' and 220lbs. I have frans gentleman's seat in my slc [they are 2'' wider and with the way I have it set up I have even tried with a helmet on I fit ok. That being said I have not upholstered them yet and we are just in the mock up stages. It is difficult getting in so we removed the shoulders that came on the seats and re-glassed them to make entry and exit easier. I have to step onto the seat and lower myself into the car just like on one of my gt-40's but once in its quite comfortable. I think you should check out the link will has pointed out and find a car near you to try out or just go see Fran at rcr to make sure, good luck..............m

I am 6' 225# (mostly muscle... ok some muscle...ok, there used to be muscle). It is a tight fit for sure. With a helmet, really difficult. I have considered pouring a seat directly to the the interior tub. Be sure to get the kit with the extended footwell... that should help you for sure. I have a friend who is 6'3" and he simply cannot fit into the car. My guess is that if I had the extended foot box, he would fit.

Hi Bryan, I am built like a linebacker 6'1" 270 lbs my shoulders are nearly 3 feet across. I had to make seats from scratch to fit me and the car, I fit but its snug. I could get a helmet on if I sat right on the floor without any seats. If you did like Michael said and poured a foam seat like they do in F1 cars you would fit with room for a helmet but yes get the extended foot well option for sure.
