The book has probably less than 5% of the source drawing. There are thousands of original drawings. I think they are in a chest of drawers located in Switzerland. The pages in the book are 400mm x 400mm and it is tightly bound. This makes it nearly impossible to simply scan them. The book is more about the art of drawing and explains how years of experience are needed to actually interpret the drawings. The book covers the history of the development from the Lola to J-car so drawings are from multiple different versions of the car. It is definitely not a how to build a GT40 book. Some of the content might be useful for a restoration such as details about a specific pedal assembly. However, anyone doing that sort of restoration probably doesn’t need this book. And you are right it is expensive. When I bought mine it was over $700. Not sure if it still available since it’s a limited production.

Unfortunately, this book is probably not what you need for that. The chassis section is only about 15% of the book and half of that is text. I am pretty good with CAD and I am sure I could not replicate a chassis with the provided information.

As I mentioned in my first response, the book is formatted to make it nearly impossible to share the content.

No. That would be a copywright infringement. If you can’t afford the book, you certainly will not be able to afford the project. The people that put this book out have taken years and years of research to develop it. Why on earth would anyone expect someone to “GIVE” them copyrighted material.

View attachment 139968I’ve been trying to track down the drawings from *GT40 Uncovered* for a while now, and I’ve noticed it's quite a common request. I’ve had some luck finding bits and pieces from various enthusiasts and forums, but a complete, reliable source still seems elusive. One approach that’s worked for me in similar cases is reaching out to niche communities or individuals who have done deep research in these areas. It’s a bit like drafting a PhD research proposal—where you have to sift through multiple sources to build something comprehensive. If you're looking into something detailed like this, sometimes it helps to apply that same level of focus. You can find a guide on how to structure complex research on research proposal services which I usually used. Even though it's geared toward academic projects, it’s useful for organizing thoughts when you're tackling detailed, multi-source inquiries like tracking these rare drawings.
It`s interesting, thanks.

Well, the drawings included in the book will give you a little more info than what you can find online.
However it is far from enough and will require alot of research, reverseengineering and investigation from your side.

I appreciate all the effort that went into producing the book. I am looking forward to the other upcoming releases from Porter Press and hope that they are able to include some more valuable information that we have not seen yet. Fingers crossed for Christmas time.
