cooper piston rings

yes, very kind of you. Now as most can imagine, I am struggling with racing a rather special engine (at least in my mind I think its special) v getting her all fresh and running and store it away and build a new engine as close to original and race the new engine. As a racer I want to race that engine, as a practical dude, I want to not race something a bit rare ish...... Thankyou,

Hi
Finally spoke to them and yes they can supply Cooper rings.

they require
inside diameter, outside diameter and “crush”

Happy to call again if you have that info

Boss 302 block will likely have valve clearance notch at top of bore, check your casting numbers to identify, if so be sure to check position of top ring to ensure it is below that notch at TDC. Given the description I think your Block might be a pre Boss 'X' casting for use with Windsor style heads only .

Agree with Jac, it is most likely that the engine supplied by Mathwall is from the same batch of 4-bolt racing motors as my own.
The block is an "XE" numbered - pre Boss type and has "289" cast markings .

I added the screw in freeze plugs which were later additions to the Boss 302 spec.
This engine was originally supplied with Gurney Weslake heads according to the Mathwall build sheet.
