Better Late and Right

I just want to comment on what appear to be the priorities Fran and the people at RCR have. They make crystal clear when a car is ordered that the delivery date is a variable. They try to estimate based on recent history of their suppliers, but that is not a science.

The delivery date on my GTR has been postponed for months, but I am glad that their priorities are based on the quality of the product delivered, not the time of delivery. Thanks for that!

Were you given any reason why your kit has been delayed? Do you know if this impacts other kits (SLC or GTR only)? I was told 20 weeks when I placed my order last week.

We originally delayed the build to match up with katechs engine build schedule
During this process we had their mock up engine in and out of the chassis to test fit the PD intake manifold and then make custom throttle body mounts and intake tubes

Unfortunately we had a few delays with the GTR and then we allowed mark to change gelcoat color of his body ... Not a big deal but as Mark says we want to get it right

The GTR really is a beauty especially with that awesome drivetrain

Those that might be following my build know that things are delayed, but it is my fault.

I am a dental specialist (Periodontist) that focuses on jaw reconstructive surgery. Surveys show that the most important criteria patients use in determining if they have a good dentist is if they are seated on time. The #1 reason. In my opinion, the very best dentists and surgeons are not always able to seat their patients on time, even though they know it is important to the next patient, because they will not quit a procedure until they get it right. The patient may not even know about the last few details that made the case "just right", but the doctor does.

Fran knows that I am not a car builder. This is my first try at this. He also knows that I am not trying to build a replica car, I want to build a car that has never been built before. I have a rather exotic engine that required special measurements, custom throttle body adapters, and it took extra time (Fran's Time) to get it right.

To me, it appears that Fran does not run his operation like a manufacturer, he runs it like the very best surgeons. Even though his customers may not recognize the differences his finishing efforts produce, Fran does, and he does not quit until he gets it right. Fran has a spot on the top shelf of my respect list. Thanks Fran.
