NC Barn Find!

Thanks for having me…! I was just sent a picture of some property I inherited near Fayetteville NC, and during the walk around this beautiful GT40 was found. I’m requesting more pics, possibly a shot through the back window and a VIN from the front. No idea yet of the build or actual condition yet - anyone here care to guess based on any clues in the photo? The double Gurney bubbles have me worried… Thanks in advance for everyone’s help!

Welcome to GT40'S Paul. From that one picture I certainly can't tell what it is. I will go with it is a barn find, and congratulations to you. It looks like there might be some tire jacks there as well. Perhaps they can roll it out for you and get some picture (we love pictures). I'm relatively sure that it will not have a vin in the windshield area , but more than likely some kind of identification under the rear clam.
Best of luck with this. Hopefully you will fix it up, and not just sell it off. These cars are really cool and a welcome addition to most peoples garage.

I am going out on a limb and say it's a CAV from the way the front brake air inlets are formed on the edges. What are the two silver objects sitting on the hood?

It looks like they are motion activated lights to keep animals off.

I'll stick my neck out and declare them to be seat belt buckles...although I have no clue why they'd be where they are.

They are indeed solar powered motion activated lights…we use a very similar set to illuminate our back deck & pool at night. Keeps wild animals from falling into the pool since we’ve gotten them.
