Harness ground wire SPF

Doing so battery work and found this harness ground which was attached to the battery ground wire. Anyone know what is ground is for? Apears to be an #8 size wire. Thanks

To complete this thread, this black ground wire is from the factory installed MSD unit. It is part of the SPF wiring harness.

They supply a coil, not an ignition unit.

My SPF has an MSD ignition box mounted behind the passenger seat. It’s an 6AL with a rev limiter. Maybe was installed by Olthoff when he did the engine install, but this ground wire I speak of sure looks to be part of the factory harness. The car came with a Blaster coil for sure. A 6AL does not show on my invoice from Olthoff, maybe I lucked out?

There is no ignition system supplied with a SUPERFORMANCE GT40 Roller from the factory. Only a coil.
