30th Anniversary of the 30th Anniversary GT40 Reunion

30 years ago (July 23, 1994), I was at the 30th GT40 Reunion. While at the Reunion, we talked with people and looked at the GT40s there. Then, while watching the parade of race cars drive through the town center of Elkhart Lake, my father and I got on my cellphone and called a car dealer in California to make an offer on 1030.

At the time, it had been advertised in Hemmings magazine (this was before most people heard of the World Wide Web). We showed some photos of 1030 to Ronnie Spain at the Reunion and he confirmed that it was an original car. We also bumped into someone who had seen the car in person and he confirmed the car was in good shape.

So this is why I will be at the 60th Reunion with 1030 this weekend.

Great story Ben. A great investment at the time and a better one now. It’s great that 1030 has been in your possession for 30 years. It says a lot about the people that love these cars. I hope you and your family has 1030 for another 30 years.

Regards Brian
