Very cool GT40/Cobra tool

Thanks for that Dave, but there are so many more knowledgeable people on here than I am. For one, Randy is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

I have read comments from the "cobra" people that unless a spinner is impacted by a dead blow hammer, it will never tighten properly. Curious how this tool achieves that?

thanks in advance

Correct. Bob Negsted who designed the 427 chassis told me that "impact" was needed to ensure proper knock-off installation. See this post with what Bob told me: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/all...a-halibrand-sunburst-spinner-taper-angle.html

I have this tool set for my Cobra (and soon I’ll be using it for my GT40) and have to say it is a very solid kit. I like to torque my wheels on and then give it a whack with a lead hammer and safety wire it. What I find this kit most useful for is removing the spinner. It’s a lot easier to get the leverage to remove the spanner than trying to get in there with a lead hammer and whack away. I would recommend it.

Thanks all.

Questions:

1. What size tool - 1/2" or 3/4" drive and what type of torque wrench do you use?
2. What torque value - I read 300 ft/lbs up to 400 ft/lbs in various threads

Hi Lee, I'm liking this tool Made by Tornado in the UK. The longer center section slides into the hollow center hole in the hub to hold the tool in proper alignment and the 3 drive pins that contact the knock off are covered by rubber hose. 3/4" drive for breaker bar or torque wrench.
