Hello everyone,
It's been a long time since I wanted to start a GT40 project.
I take a lot of pleasure to browse this forum for several years and today I want to put my first stone.

I introduce myself, I'm Stéphane from Toulouse in the south of France and I just started the project.

For a Frenchman it is not easy because the ultimate objective of a replica project is to roll on the road but in France the task is very hard or impossible because our regulation is not conciliatory.

Here are my first pictures of marble wood and I will try to update as regularly as possible and I know that this project will be counted in years.

Je ferai de mon mieux pour rester à jour sur ce forum.
Pour Youtube, cela va être compliqué parce que je n’ai pas beaucoup de temps et que je le dédierai principalement à l’atelier du GT40.
Voici la description technique rapide de mon projet GT40.
J'ai déjà un moteur Ford 302 EFI V8 d'un Mercury 1991 et je souhaite installer un calculateur programmable.
J'ai une boîte de vitesses 01E Audi A6, il me faut une plaque adaptatrice et un volant d'inertie.
J'ai déjà la carrosserie faite par Freddy en France, comme Benjamin déjà présent sur ce forum et sur Youtube.
Pour le cadre, l'histoire est beaucoup plus compliquée.

J'ai une boîte de vitesses 01E Audi A6....

Does my schoolboy French fail me, or is an 01E called a "box of speeds"? I shall never refer to a gearbox as anything else from now on.

LOL ; Yes Eddy Boite de vitesse is Box of speed say Box of gears ( due to vitesse is same world for speed and gear !!)

C'est bien d'avoir déjà pris votre carrosserie ; il est indispensable de l'avoir sous la main pour très souvent s'y reporter afin d’être sur que le "central de carrosserie s'adapte correctement sur votre châssis et que le TB est aussi à sa bonne place
Pourquoi dites vous que pour le châssis c'est plus compliqué ? Partez vous de plans déjà existants il en existe des très bien et ils ont été reproduit ici sur le forum et permettent de faire ( si on sait souder correctement un tant soi peu ) un beau châssis bien rigide et pas trop lourd
Pour les suspensions et porte moyeux qu'avez vous envisagé ?

Michel, for the chassis is complicated because I started by ordering a kit in England but I think I got scammed. incomplete chassis, money and a lot of lost time .. in short I do not want to pollute you with my problems.
Michel For you what is the translation of homebuilder? In my case it's not easy

En fait un peu des 2 approches, j'ai concu un chassis sur informatique mais je voulais d'abord faire un 1er chassis de conception déjà existante pour apprendre, donc j'ai commandé un kit prédécoupé en Engleterre et je commence avec cette version et j'envisage ma propre version par la suite.
Pour l'homologation en France c'est quasiment impossible donc ce sera uniquement pour circuit.

For homologation in France it is almost impossible so it will only be for circuits.
