Superlite GTA

So, if I am reading this information correctly, a 95-99 eclipse or Talon is the ideal donor car? We will use the doors, windows, weather stripping, engine, interior and parts of the chassis. Is there anything else? If I buy a donor, I want to make sure the parts are in good shape that I would be using.

Aside from the $20k initial RCR kit and the donor, I would also need wheels/tires, battery and transaxle?

Am I on target?

Thanks,
Mr. Wolfe

Close...

you reuse the engine and transaxle from the front of the donor and install that in the rear of the car....so no high dollar transaxle needed...until you start making big power...but thats par for the course with any car..

Wheels are part of the kit also....but tyres are customer supplied.

You will not be using any of the exterior panels, except the doors so if you can find a really clean car with a bump in the front or rear then you will be sitting pretty...so long as the drivetrain is unharmed.

Thank you Fran, excellent. I do remember reading about the transverse-mounted engine/tranny now that you mention it.

Any specs on the supplied wheels?

Fran, are the doors going to be "re-skinned"?

Also if we plan to go with the 6G72TT will there be wiring issues to address with spedo, tach etc???

Love the concept, can't wait for more information to come....

I love the concept! I started out in the tuner world -- and have had 400hp4-cyl turbo monsters and have worked with mitsubishi engines when I first started my quest for big hp. I'm not in the 20-something crowd anymore - but see this as a possible fun track toy that might be priced low enough it wouldn't pain me to see the typical track damage. Interesting to see how this compares to project 818 from factory five. I still love light fast 4 bangers. My current ride is a Lotus Exige S260.

Any early release date plans? I'd love to see a nod to track days with spare parts packages and spares pricing as well!

When I was at his shop 13 days ago Fran said the GTA would be available before the end of this year.

I don't know if that is what you mean by "early release date" or not...

Because I am bored, I will take a stab at the wheel/tire sizes...

18 x 9 with a 245/40/18
18 x 10 with a 275/35/18

Hoping for an 18 x 11 with a 305 though...

Looks back at the rendering and clay pics......

Fran! We need more pics :D

Don't make me decide to squander money into my MX5 with a V6 conversion I'm sorely tempted with!
