Classic Car Show, NEC, November 2016

Hi Darren, I've just finished my build and would be happy to offer my car for the stand. I'm coming to the show anyway so I would also be happy to help if you needed a body. Best wishes, Neil

    Southern GT chassis 15

I have now finished building my Southern GT and I would like to thank Mick (and Adam and Stevie) for all their help and encouragement. Even when I asked the same damn fool question 3 times they were helpful and not in the least bit dismissive. You get what you pay for, and with Southern GT you...

Which trailer to transport a GT40?

Thank you all for your suggestions. There seem to be many more options in America than here in the UK. Ultimately it will be the £££s that decide. Sadly, I cant afford to build a GT40 and buy a trailer and keep a wife. I'll have to economise somewhere..........!

Which trailer to transport a GT40?

Thank you guys for your replies. Tim, I could cope with small children and packed lunches 25 years ago, but definitely not now - so that rules out an enclosed trailer. In passing, they're incredibly expensive. From your comment Dave, it looks as if a tiltbed with long ramps is favourite. I've...

Which trailer to transport a GT40?

Does anyone have any experience (good or bad!) of trailering their 40? How wide should the load bed be? Is it possible to get out of the car if you have an enclosed trailer? It seems that a tilt bed is desirable to overcome the ground clearance problems when loading forwards, or am I being a...

Hi Darren, The stand looks very impressive; you have obviously worked extremely hard to organize it all. I hope you haven't had too many sleepless nights! I am looking forward to visiting the stand tomorrow as it will re ignite my enthusiasm to finish my build (Southen GT chassis 15) which is...

Hi Andy, Your stone guard is a brilliantly simple and effective idea. Do you have an air con condenser between the radiator and stone guard? Did you find a fabricator in Norfolk? Cheers, Neil

    SouthernGT Number 18

Hi Paul, In answer to your question on Belinda's build log (I'm not sure if it's polite to send you a post on her log) I used a combination of air driven tungsten burr, round hand file and reamer type drill for my electic drill. The burrs are not cheap but incredibly effective and can be...

    Tornado Build - www.gt40builder.com

Nice to see an Anglebox again. I got my first speeding ticket in 1976 driving one. It was during the petrol 'crisis' when petrol was about 4 bob a gallon! Happy days! Neil
