Vintage Air Mini Gen rotary controls question

I'm starting to install the wiring harness on my dash and came to the point where I'm mounting the AC controls that came with my RCR40 from Vintage Air. My "mini gen" unit has only cold and heat and no defroster. But the rotary control panel supplied has four controls on it including one that adjusts the air flow to different areas including a defroster. It seems to me that this would have no function with my unit so I'm thinking of doing a custom panel with just the three needed controls.

Am I correct or am I missing something?

Found out the answer - still needed to control path of the airflow to vents, floor or both.
