Hello: Does anyone have available the original style flap window hinges or know of a source for them - see picture (taken from the Tornado website - but no longer supplied)? Thanks in advance!

Does anybody have a template (and dimensions) of the flap window (preferentially from an original car)?
Thanks in advance.

Does anybody has a blue print on how to position the hinges and the retainer versus the edge of the opening ? The problem is that the rotation axis will change the way on how the small window will be easy to open and close and rotate on the axis without problem.

Seems like 8-9mm in front of the edge to the pivot axis on some data i have here.

Hello Jean-Marc: a mechanics (physics) problem ;-). 1. you need to ensure that the rotation pins are in line (=axis of rotation) and parallel to the adjacent window edge. 2. the further you move the axis of rotation away from this edge (onto the frame - here, the main window) the longer the turning radius will become and the flatter the little window will approach the opening in the big one. A hinge at infinity would imply moving the little window perpendicularly towards the opening in big one ;-) This is important for a thick window (you might want to angle the edge - just as on a conventional window in your house. The shape of your hinges and your window will have you make your final decision. Good luck!

Thank you Ole, Thank you Walter, Walter believe it or not, I am engineer in Physic ! For this I put the parts on a drawing and did several configurations I arrived to the final one.

Nice. Remember to read through the bickford book for bolted joints before tightening the bolts...
