I know you are all way beyond what I'm trying to do in my daily driver but I'd appreciate your advice.
So i have a front mid engine rwd 1973 opel gt. It doesn't have any room behind the solid rear because of the gas tank so putting a jag xj6 irs in the back and have been looking at a porsche g31 but the prices for a good one is very expensive.
The big issues if 1st and 2nd gear is broken there is no way to fix it. Does anyone know if I can bolt another trans up to the diff?
I thought of trying to use a t5 4x4 transmission mounted in the rear to a corvair diff but haven't had much to go on at this point.
I am putting a buick regal 2.0t that can be tuned to 350 hp and 370 ft lbs torque. In the 2000 lbs car, this might end up too much power, so I will start with the stock 270 hp and 300 ft lbs torque and only upgrade if the rear tires arent constanty breaking free everytime I touch the gas pedal.
Any suggestions on something light and small similar to a Volvo 360 m47r or a porsche 928 g31? Diff in back so no clearance issues with gas tank?
