Guessing the Mercedes "SLC" is not abbreviated for "Superlite Coupe". SLC would be more of a slang version, not official name.

But, now that I will tell someone I have an SLC, I pray they don't think it is a small convertible aimed at the female market.

My dad had an early 70s SLC, dark blue with blue leather. That was many years ago. But Mercedes has used the name before.

I see - google was being sneaky to me - everything i looked up 'mercedes 1970 slc' it kept autosearching 'sl' rather than 'slc'

oh well, I wasn't even remotely close to being born then so not my fault :laugh:
