The following are a few pictures from last weekends 6 Hours of Silverstone that may be of interest. The weekend had several firsts for me. FP3 on Saturday Red flagged due to snow, the last car that ventured out for a slow lap as it was starting was appropriately enough one of the Audi e-tron Quattros. Fist motor race to declare a "Hybrid incident" that required two team mechanics to be taken to stopped car to discharge the hybrid system, once again an e-tron Quattro. We also spectated on the outside of Becketts for the first time and looking down on the LMP1 cars as they went through that part of the circuit was amazing, come to that the Gt cars looked pretty awesome to.
From what I observed the Ford GT's ran reliably for the whole race and it appears that only publicised failure was a radio fault on one of the cars. Pace however was 1 to 2 seconds a lap off the class leading F488 which I believe probably has a better power to weight ratio. Hopefully Ford can start chipping away at the difference as they learn more about the car.
One other thing that I had not picked up on before are the wheels on 1008, which was displayed in the fan zone. They look mighty similar to the Vintage Wheels on my RCR Mk11. I have seen it several times since 2006 and never noticed that before.
Hopefully the same reliability will be there for the LM24 which should be a great experience.
