Engine options

Hey all, I'm contemplating building a RCR Gt40 MK2 at some point in the future and am curious what kinds of engines people have managed to make fit in the tiny engine bay. I know the 289 and FE series v8s will fit, and am curious if anyone has done a 5.4 or 4.6 modular. Do you think the car could be modified to fit a more outlandish engine like an RB26 Inline 6? I'm curious if anyone else has done a more unique powerplant

I am fitting a 5.4 modular. It will need Dry Sump to get it low enough. Coyote builds seem popular now ... which I expect are about as bulky as the 5.4 quad cam. I have some photos in this forum - if you search; otherwise I can repost.

I fitted one into the SGT/ AK frame, had to modify it a little to make room for the extra accessory belt system the 4.6 dohc used for the supercharger. A 5.4 would fit just the same but wouldn't have required me to adjust the frame as much. I went dry sump. Made my own mounting supports for the pump and placed it where the power steering would have been and modified the metco brackets to aid in the relocation of belt pulleys.

The coyote setups are a lot smaller dimensionally so they fit way easier btw.

Superformance also stuffed a GT500 5.4 into one of their frames

Everyone forgets about this guys too:
