Edges of sheet metal present sharp edges that can cut skin, chafe wires and fluid lines. I have found an easy way to protect these edges from doing damage and also presenting an attractive appearance. A push-on grommet made by Spring- Fast works perfectly for this application. I'll attach a photo of what I have used on both sheet metal edges and to line lightening holes. No adhesive is needed; you just push it on the edge with finger pressure and it stays in place. The grommet is flexible so it conforms to curves and holes. There are different part numbers for each panel thickness range. It is not cheap- about $5/ ft from Aircraft Spruce- but it is excellent.
