Basics of a project car information

After a lifetime of project cars, what I’ve always held to be important:
1) Prioritize function first over form. Form is only important after proper function is achieved.
2) Project completion must be the end goal, at least to the point of a driveable, full functioning vehicle.
3) Completed project should at least be worth what you have into it, not including the cost of my labor, since it’s a hobby for me.

Michael all good points and would add make it maintainable & or adjustable. So many new vehicles are designed by engineers that don’t think about having to replace that part someday and how to make that happen. The adjustable part is a rule of custom building as nothing is ever symmetrical or perfectly designed and executed to the point of just bolting it in place and not interfere with something else on the car or work most effectively without adjustment.
