Wimbledon hopeful Simona Halep wants surgery to reduce the size of her breasts.
Halep is seen as one of the tennis stars of the future after winning a host of junior titles and a place in the final of the junior French Open last year.
But the 5-foot-5-inch Romanian tennis star said she thinks her 34DD bust is holding her back.
"This autumn I'll have a breast reduction operation" Halep said. "The breasts make me uncomfortable when I play."
"It's the weight that troubles me and my ability to react quickly" she added.

On a serious note (for a change) it is a shame that people think they have to mutilate themselves for stupid reasons like sport, money or some imposed idea of beauty.

I actually knew a well educated, intelligent girl who had the body of a goddess with magnificent breasts. She got exasperated with people paying attention to her bust, treating her as a hooker, and not talking to her face, such that she decided that her bust was hindering her being taken seriously in her profession. So she had a breast reduction. It was absolutely a crying shame, and I was really disappointed on several levels. She didn't look as good (to me), and it was tragic that she felt she had to mutilate herself.

Lads, I've seen both sides of it. I worked for a plastic surgeon for years and actually worked on the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. I've seen them made larger (more often then not and smaller) (Made smaller due to back aches, tingling sensations in the fingers etc.) So I'm trying to be understanding of this player. But I have to ask...does she really think that doing a reduction will rocket her up the world rankings from where she currently is? Will she go from being ranked 258 (?) to 10 all of a sudden. I think not. Even though I've seen hundreds of sets of breasts in my day I admit there is nothing like a women with a curvey figure, tight sweater and thin waist. There is a God.....thats all I can say when I see it done right. This lass has been blessed beyond her dreams.

I will second Jimmys remarks. Having seen hundreds of reworkings, some are for the better and some not. The majic of what they can do for reconstruction following Cancer is amazing. They can be shaped any way the customer wants and the "good one" can be reshaped to look like the reconstructed one. The main down side of any reductin no matter for what reason is the scaring and loss of sensation. It is a tremendous psychological barrier for those who go this route.
The girls that want reductions are usually in need of them for medical reasons as Jimmy stated. They just have to remember that there are risk and unforeseen circumstances in doing just the thing they want, even with enlargement. I was involved second hand with a girl who wanted a reduction so bad, she decided to do it knowing the risk she had with asthma. She was treating herself to a 24th birthday surgery. I was called in when she developed severe asthma in the post op area, just before she was to be dismissed from the surgery center. She developed what we call status asthmaticus and within 30 minutes was pronounced dead despite all our efforts.
Just because the doctors tells you, you have a 1%-5% chance of something bad happening, you have to remember if it does happen, you are now in the 100% bracket.

These people are not good at tennis - they are great. They are not only great from practice, but for other physiological reasons that make them different from each other and from you and me. There is an argument that reducing her breast size is simply a performance enhancement which may be illegal.

But I just love an intelligent girl with a lovely figure and beautiful large bust. That sounds awful, but I can't help it. What is so attractive about lumps of fat with twiddly bits on them?
