289/302 and 351 Engine blocks

Spring cleaning (even though we got snow this morning!!) and selling two engine blocks if anyone is looking for period correct look.

First is a 1968 289. Block is standard bore that I stripped down. Has factory 289 crank and pistons. Block is cast with ‘302’ on it so I don’t know if that how they built them in 1968 or if they ran out and started using a 302 block. Either way both blocks have the same dimensions and this one can be built back either way.

Second block is a 1969 351 block. This is also standard bore with an early 1968 (i believe) casting date. This one is just the block.

Both blocks has no signs of damage, no repairs, no scarring on cylinder walls, etc. I collected them in case I was going to build a period correct 40 but went another route and they’ve been collecting dust. I’m located in Westchester, NY. Asking $500 each or any reasonable offer/trade. Just looking to clear some floor space and get back to building cars.

Easy to confirm, a 1968 more likely a 302 !!

289 had a 2.87 stroke
302 had a 3.00 stroke
351 had a 3.50 stroke
All had a 4 in. bore

Except that it had a factory 289 crank and factory 289 pistons and rods, so it had a 2.87 stroke. That’s why I believe Ford built a 289 with a 302 block back in the day. Either way block can be rebuilt as either a 289 or a 302.

Just to clarify when I found the block several years ago it was a short block and after I looked it over I assumed it was a standard bore 1968 302. Later on I stripped it down to get it hot tanked and as I pulled it apart I realized it had all factory 289 internals, which I found odd so I assumed they must have run out of 289 blocks on the line back in 68 and grabbed a 302 block.

Any model year back then would probably have a transition period.
